Preparation
- 1
Chill the Glass
Before you begin mixing the cocktail, chill your serving glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine the Pierre Ferrand 1840 1er Cru Cognac, Cointreau, and fresh lemon juice.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the shaker with ice, making sure to add enough to chill the mixture thoroughly.
- 4
Shake It Up
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds or until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
- 5
Strain into Glass
Remove the ice water from your chilled glass and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass using a fine mesh strainer or a cocktail strainer.
- 6
Garnish and Serve
Twist a piece of lemon peel over the cocktail to release its oils, then drop it into the drink as a garnish. Serve immediately.
