Lobster Tail

Method

Preparing Lobster Tail

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil. Add 2 tablespoons of salt to the water.

  2. 2

    Cook Lobster Tails

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the lobster tails. Boil for about 8-10 minutes, or until the shells turn bright red and the meat is opaque.

  3. 3

    Cool Lobster Tails

Remove the lobster tails from the boiling water and place them in an ice bath to cool down quickly. Let them sit for about 5-10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare for Serving

Once cooled, carefully split the shells down the back and remove the lobster meat. Place the lobster meat on ice or in the refrigerator to keep it chilled until serving.

Making Cocktail Sauce

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce.

  2. 6

    Season the Sauce

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the mixture and stir until well combined.

  3. 7

    Chill Sauce

Cover the cocktail sauce and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
