Prepare the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Remove any beards attached to the mussels.

Make the Harissa Broth

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

Add Harissa and Broth

Stir in the harissa paste and cook for another minute. Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.

Cook the Mussels

Add the cleaned mussels to the pot, cover, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened up.

Finish the Dish

Once cooked, stir in the chopped cilantro, parsley, and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Ladle the mussels and broth into bowls and serve hot with crusty bread on the side.
