Method

Smoothie Base

  1. 1

    Prepare mango

If using fresh mango, peel, pit, and dice enough mango to measure 1 1/2 cups. If using frozen mango, measure frozen cubes and let sit 2–3 minutes to soften slightly for easier blending.

  2. 2

    Add ingredients to blender

Place the diced mango, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup milk, 1/4 cup orange juice, 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup), 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (if using), and a 1/4 teaspoon pinch of salt into the blender jar.

  3. 3

    Add ice

Add 1 cup of ice cubes to the blender. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, add an additional 1/4–1/2 cup of ice or use frozen mango instead of fresh.

  4. 4

    Blend

Secure the blender lid and blend on high for 30–60 seconds, stopping to scrape down the sides with a spatula if necessary. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and no large mango chunks remain. If the smoothie is too thick, add up to 2 tablespoons more milk or orange juice and blend briefly to combine.

  5. 5

    Taste and adjust

Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed: add up to 1 more teaspoon honey or maple syrup for sweetness, or another 1/2 teaspoon lime juice for brightness. Blend 5–10 seconds after adjustments.

  6. 6

    Serve

Pour the smoothie into two glasses (or one large glass).

Garnish (optional)

  1. 7

Garnish each glass with a fresh mint leaf and a mango slice on the rim, if desired.
