Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the strip loin steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.

Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Sauté Onions and Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add butter and heat over medium. Slice the onion and mushrooms. Add the onions to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the mushrooms and cook for another 3-4 minutes until both are golden brown. Remove from heat.

Side Dish Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare French Fries

Cook the French fries according to package instructions or prepare fresh fries by frying or baking.

  2. 5

    Toast Garlic Bread

Place the slices of garlic bread on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.

  3. 6

    Mix Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix and dressing. Toss until well coated.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a plate, place the rested steak, top with sautéed onions and mushrooms. Serve with a side of French fries, garlic bread, and a generous helping of coleslaw.
