Preparing the Carnitas

Slow Cook the Pork
In a slow cooker, combine the pork shoulder, orange juice, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, bay leaves, and water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and shreds easily.

Shred the Pork
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Discard any excess fat and bay leaves.

Crisp the Pork (optional)
For crispy carnitas, spread the shredded pork on a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until the edges are crispy.

Prepare the Tortillas
Warm the flour tortillas in a skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side or until pliable.
