Burger Patties

Mushroom Topping

Assembly

Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Mushroom Topping

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are browned and tender.

  2. 4

    Add Flavor

Add the butter, minced garlic, and fresh thyme to the skillet. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the garlic is fragrant.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  2. 6

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place one slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover to melt.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burgers

To assemble, place a patty on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with sautéed mushrooms, shredded lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Finish with the top half of the bun.
