Assemble the Salad
In a large bowl, combine the torn lettuce, chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, green pepper, and cheese. Toss gently to mix the ingredients.
Crouton Preparation

Prepare the Bread
If using fresh bread, cut it into cubes. If using stale bread, you can skip this step.

Season the Croutons
In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Bake the Croutons
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown, stirring halfway through.

Combine Salad and Croutons
Once the croutons are done baking and have cooled slightly, add them to the salad mixture. Toss everything together gently.
