Prepare the Glass
Take a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a glass. Dip the rim of the glass into a plate of salt to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 oz of tequila, 1 oz of triple sec, 1 oz of fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.

Add Ice
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes to the top.

Shake the Mixture
Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well mixed and chilled.

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice. Optionally, you can serve it straight up without ice in a chilled glass.
