Fries

Chipotle Ranch Dipping Sauce

Bacon Beer Cheese Dipping Sauce (optional)

Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to form fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries into a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch for crispier fries.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.

  4. 4

    Fry the Fries

Remove the fries from the water and thoroughly dry them with a clean towel. Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil (do not overcrowd) and fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with garlic powder, cracked black pepper, and Cajun seasoning if using. Toss to coat evenly.

Making the Chipotle Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ranch dressing, chipotle in adobo sauce, lime juice, and salt (if using).

  2. 7

    Mix Well

Whisk together until all ingredients are well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Making the Bacon Beer Cheese Dipping Sauce (optional)

  1. 8

    Mix Cream Cheese and Beer

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cream cheese and beer. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and well blended.

  2. 9

    Add Cheeses and Bacon

Add the shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, and garlic powder to the saucepan. Continue stirring until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.

  3. 10

    Serve Warm

Remove from heat and serve warm alongside fries.
