Cheese Cubes
Marinara Sauce
Method
Preparing the Cheese Cubes
Cut the Cheese
Cut the pepperjack cheese into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
Prepare the Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, place the all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, and bread crumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Bread the Cheese
Dredge each cheese cube in flour, dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with the seasoned bread crumbs. Ensure each piece is fully coated.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
Fry the Cheese Cubes
Carefully add the breaded cheese cubes to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Making the Marinara Sauce
Add Tomatoes and Spices
Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Stir well to combine.
Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Finish with Basil
Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.
