Sober Drink - Mexican Coke

Method

Sober Drink - Mexican Coke

1

Chill glass and ingredients

If possible, chill the glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes beforehand. Chill the bottle or can of Mexican Coke in the refrigerator until cold (around 2–4 °C / 35–40 °F).

2

Prepare ice and lime

Add about 1 cup of fresh ice cubes to the chilled glass. Roll the fresh half-lime on the counter with the palm of your hand to release juices, then cut into a wedge if not already cut.

3

Pour the cola

Hold the bottle or can at a slight angle and slowly pour 12 oz (one serving) of Mexican Coke down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and minimize foam. Pour gently until the glass is nearly full, leaving room for a garnish and a little headspace (about 1/2 inch).

4

Add lime juice

Squeeze the juice from the prepared half-lime (about 1/2 lime) over the top of the drink to taste, dropping the squeezed half into the glass if you like an extra hint of lime flavor.

5

Garnish and serve

Garnish the rim of the glass with the lime wedge. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring stick if preferred. For best flavor, drink while the beverage is still fizzy and cold.
