In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and steep 4 black tea bags in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes.

Brew the Tea

After steeping, remove the tea bags and add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the hot tea. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Sweeten the Tea

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled.

Cool the Tea

In a large pitcher, combine the chilled sweetened tea, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 1 cup of alcohol (vodka or rum). Stir well to mix all the ingredients.

Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if desired.

Taste and Adjust

Fill glasses with ice and pour the twisted tea mixture over the ice.

Serve Over Ice

Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon and a few mint leaves for added freshness.
