Fried Pickles
Ranch Dressing
Method
Fried Pickles
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Set Up Breading Station
In one bowl, add the buttermilk. In a second bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Bread the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated. Place breaded pickles on a plate.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the breaded pickle slices to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Serve
Serve the fried pickles hot with ranch dressing on the side.
Ranch Dressing
Mix the Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Whisk Together
Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and well combined.
Chill
Refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
