Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Steak
Take the filet mignon steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels.
Season the Steaks
Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.
Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
Sear the Steaks
Add the steaks to the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness.
Add Aromatics (Optional)
In the last minute of cooking, you can add crushed garlic cloves and a sprig of fresh rosemary to the pan for added flavor.
Rest the Steaks
Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
