Method

Prepare the Fries

1

Cut and Fry the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thick strips. Soak in water for 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and set aside.

Make the Cole Slaw

2

Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrot. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to coat. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prepare the Tartar Sauce

3

Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Prepare the Fish

4

Batter the Fish

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Gradually mix in the beer until the batter is smooth. Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.

5

Fry the Fish

Carefully place the battered fish in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Serve

6

Plate the Dish

Serve the beer-battered fish alongside the fries, cole slaw, and tartar sauce. Garnish with lemon wedges.
