Onion Ring Ingredients
Method
Onion Ring Preparation
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.
Make the Batter
In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk the egg and add cold water. Mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until well combined.
Coat the Onion Rings
Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated, then roll it in breadcrumbs until evenly covered.
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully add the coated onion rings to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve
Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
