Strawberry Shake

Enjoy a creamy and refreshing regular-sized strawberry shake made with ripe strawberries and smooth vanilla ice cream.

Gather all the ingredients including the Chardonnay, vanilla bean, tropical fruits, oak chips, sugar, and water.

Prepare Ingredients

Split the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Reserve the seeds and the pod.

Extract Vanilla Flavor

Chop the tropical fruit into small pieces. You may choose to blend them for a smoother texture.

Prepare Tropical Fruit

In a large pot, combine the chopped tropical fruit, scraped vanilla bean seeds, and the pod, sugar, and 4 cups of water.

Combine Ingredients

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes until the flavors meld.

Heat Mixture

Remove the pot from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, strain the mixture to remove the fruit and vanilla pod, reserving the liquid.

Cool and Strain

Add the oak chips to the strained liquid. Let it sit for 1-2 days to infuse the flavor. The longer you let it sit, the more pronounced the oak flavor will be.

Infuse with Oak

After infusing, mix the flavored liquid with the bottle of Chardonnay in a large carafe or pitcher.

Mix with Chardonnay

Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. Pour into wine glasses and enjoy the balanced oak, vanilla, and tropical fruit flavors.
