Bruschetta Topping
Method
Preparation
Prepare the Tomato Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped basil, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Assemble the Bruschetta
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto the toasted side of each bread slice. Serve immediately.
