Method
Salad
Prepare tomatoes
Wash and dry the tomatoes. Using a sharp knife, slice each tomato into 1/4-inch to 1/3-inch thick rounds. If tomatoes are large, halve them after slicing so pieces are bite-sized. Arrange slices on a large serving platter or individual plates, slightly overlapping.
Prepare mozzarella
Drain the fresh mozzarella and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Slice the mozzarella into rounds roughly the same thickness as the tomato slices. Tuck a mozzarella slice next to or atop each tomato slice on the platter.
Add basil
Wash and dry the basil leaves. Tear larger leaves in half if needed. Tuck whole or torn basil leaves between tomato and mozzarella slices, distributing evenly across the platter.
Season and dress
Lightly drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil over the arranged salad (about 3 tablespoons). Drizzle the balsamic glaze sparingly over the top (about 1 tablespoon) in a thin zig-zag or dots for balanced sweetness. Sprinkle the sea salt evenly over the tomatoes and mozzarella (about 1 teaspoon), then finish with freshly ground black pepper to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon).
