Chicken Wings
Whiskey Glaze
Method
Prepare the Chicken Wings
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare the Wings
In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika until evenly coated.
Bake the Wings
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Place the seasoned chicken wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake
Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until they are crispy and cooked through, flipping halfway through.
Make the Whiskey Glaze
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan, combine whiskey, brown sugar, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and ginger. Stir to combine.
Simmer the Glaze
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened.
Thicken the Glaze
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Stir this slurry into the simmering glaze and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until thickened.
Coat the Wings
Toss with Glaze
Once the wings are done baking, remove them from the oven and toss them in the whiskey glaze until fully coated.
Serve
Plate and Enjoy
Serve the wings hot with extra hot sauce on the side if desired.
