Method

Preparation

1

Chill the can (if needed)

If the canned soda is not already chilled, refrigerate the unopened can for at least 30 minutes or place it in an ice bath for 10–15 minutes until cold. Cold soda tastes best and reduces fizz loss when opening.

2

Prepare glass and ice

If using a glass, place 4 ice cubes into the tall drinking glass. Using ice is optional; for direct drinking from the can, skip this step.

Pouring & Garnishing

3

Open the can safely

Hold the can upright on a stable surface. Grip the tab and lift to puncture the can. Open slowly to reduce sudden fizzing and overflow.

4

Pour the soda (optional)

If using a glass, tilt the glass at about 45 degrees and pour the soda gently down the side to preserve carbonation and reduce foam. Fill to desired level.

5

Add garnish

If desired, squeeze the lime or lemon wedge lightly over the poured soda (or into the can) to add a citrus note, then drop the wedge into the drink. Clap the mint leaves between your palms and tuck them on top for aroma. Drop a maraschino cherry into the glass for a sweet accent. Insert a straw if desired.

6

Serve

Serve immediately while cold. If drinking directly from the can, enjoy right after opening for best effervescence.
