Method
Strawberry Puree
Prepare Strawberries
Rinse and hull 1 cup fresh strawberries. Cut any large berries into quarters so they blend evenly.
Combine the hulled strawberries, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice in a blender or food processor.
Blend on high until smooth, about 20–30 seconds. If you prefer a seed-free texture, press the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, using the back of a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible. You should have roughly 3–4 tablespoons of puree per cocktail batch (adjust quantity if making multiple drinks).
Taste the puree and adjust sweetness with a little more sugar or lime juice if needed. Chill briefly while you prepare the cocktail, or refrigerate up to 24 hours.
Margarita Mix & Assembly
In a cocktail shaker, add 4 oz blanco tequila, 1.5 oz orange liqueur, 1 oz fresh lime juice, and 3 tablespoons of the prepared strawberry puree. If you want a sweeter drink, add 1/2 teaspoon simple syrup.
Add 1 cup of ice to the shaker (enough to fill) and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and well chilled.
Garnish with a halved fresh strawberry on the rim and a lime wedge. Serve immediately.
