Margarita Mix

Serving Ice

Method

Prep & Rim

1

Salt the glass

Choose a large margarita or rocks glass (14–16 oz). Run the lime wedge around the rim to moisten it, then dip the rim into the coarse salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

2

Fill the glass with about 1 cup of fresh ice to chill while you make the cocktail; empty it before serving if you prefer less dilution, or leave the ice in for a longer drink.

Make Margarita

3

Add the reposado tequila (2 oz), orange liqueur (1 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), and agave syrup (0.5 oz) into a cocktail shaker.

4

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and the mixture is well-chilled and slightly diluted.

5

Discard the chilling ice from the prepared glass if you used it to chill. Strain the margarita into the salted glass over fresh ice (leave the ice level about 1–1.5 inches below the rim so the inverted beer fits).

Add the Corona

6

Open the chilled Corona bottle. Immediately invert the bottle and place it mouth-down into the margarita so that the neck is submerged and the bottle rests against the side of the glass. The beer will slowly release into the margarita as you drink.

7

If you prefer the beer to flow more quickly, press the bottle slightly down and then release it a couple of times to let more beer pour out; to keep the distinctive visual, avoid fully submerging the bottle or tipping the glass.

Garnish & Serve

8

Garnish the rim with the reserved lime wheel and drop the lime wedge into the drink or place it on the rim. Serve with a straw or stirrer so the guest can moderate beer release and mix as desired.

9

Enjoy immediately. One Coronarita serves one person.
