Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Muddle

In a cocktail shaker, add 4 cucumber slices and 6 mint leaves. Gently muddle just enough to release cucumber juice and mint aroma — about 6–8 gentle presses. Avoid pulverizing the mint to prevent bitterness.

2

Build

Add 2 oz Hendrick’s Gin, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 1 dash bitters (if using) to the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

3

Ice and shake

Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosty.

4

Double-strain

Prepare a chilled Collins or highball glass with 3 oz of fresh ice (or a large single cube). Double-strain the shaken cocktail through a fine mesh strainer and the shaker strainer into the glass to remove bits of mint and cucumber.

5

Top (optional)

If you prefer a lighter, more effervescent version, top with 1 oz club soda and gently stir once to combine. Otherwise leave un-topped for a drier cocktail.

Garnish & Finish

6

Express the oils of the orange twist over the surface of the drink by holding it skin-side down and giving it a quick twist, then rub the peel around the glass rim and drop it in (or discard).

7

Add a cucumber ribbon or wheel inside the glass along the inner wall and finish with a fresh mint sprig lightly slapped between your palms to activate the aroma, then rest on top.

8

Serve immediately with a short straw. Note tasting notes: bright cucumber and mint upfront, floral cucumber-forward Hendrick’s profile, with citrus brightness from lime and orange oil.
