Method
Cocktail
Add Tito's Vodka (2 oz), St. Germain (0.5 oz), lychee puree (1 oz), and fresh lemon juice (0.5 oz) to a cocktail shaker.
If the lychee puree is not very sweet, add simple syrup (0.25 oz). Adjust later to taste — it's easier to add more than to remove.
Fill the shaker with ice (about 4–6 large cubes), secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds. A strong shake both chills and slightly dilutes the drink for proper balance.
Dump the ice (or water) from the chilled glass. Fine-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer to remove ice shards and any lychee fiber for a smooth presentation.
Garnish & Serve
Skewer the peeled and pitted lychee on a cocktail pick and place it across the rim or drop it into the center of the martini.
Optionally express a lemon twist over the top of the cocktail to release oils, then discard or drop the twist in as a secondary garnish.
Serve immediately while cold. Taste and, if desired, adjust future pours by adding a touch more simple syrup (for sweetness) or an extra 0.25 oz lemon juice (for brightness).
