1

Prepare glass

Chill a coupe or chilled cocktail glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water while you build the drink (about 3–5 minutes).

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Bacardi Dark rum, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz passion fruit purée, 0.25 oz Campari, and 0.25 oz simple syrup. If using, add 1 dash Angostura bitters.

3

Dry shake (no ice)

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously without ice for 8–10 seconds. This helps emulsify the passion fruit and aerate the mixture for a silkier texture.

4

Wet shake (with ice)

Open the shaker, add 6 ice cubes, reseal, and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and well diluted (roughly 20–25% dilution overall).

5

Strain

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to remove pulp and ice shards for a smooth, silky finish.

6

Garnish and serve

Float a thin lime wheel on the surface or place it on the rim. Optionally, add half a fresh or dehydrated passion fruit on the rim or floated in the drink for aroma. Serve immediately.
