Cocktail

1

Muddle

In a cocktail shaker, add the 4 peeled cucumber slices and 6 fresh mint leaves. Gently muddle 6–8 times—press to release cucumber juice and mint aroma but avoid shredding the mint (gentle presses rather than vigorous ripping).

2

Combine

Add 2 oz Hendrick's gin, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint.

3

Shake

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and well-chilled. This both chills and slightly dilutes the cocktail for balance.

4

Fine-strain

Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled martini or coupe glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to remove cucumber bits and mint fragments, yielding a clear, smooth drink.

5

Garnish & Serve

Float or skewer 1 thin cucumber slice on the rim and add 1 mint sprig. Optionally clap the mint between your palms first to release oils before garnishing. Serve immediately.
