Method
Cocktail
Chill the glass
Place the old fashioned glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice and water while you prepare the cocktail to chill it. Discard the ice water just before straining.
Combine spirits
Add 1 oz Suntory Roku 86 Gin, 1 oz Carpano Antica (sweet vermouth), and 1 oz Campari into a mixing glass or small pitcher.
Strain
Using a Hawthorne or julep strainer, strain the stirred Negroni into the prepared old fashioned glass over the fresh ice.
Serve
Serve immediately. Suggest sipping slowly to appreciate the balance of bitter, sweet, and herbal notes from the Roku gin and Carpano Antica.
Optional Tools
For best clarity and slow dilution, use a single large clear ice cube in the serving glass. To make clear ice, boil water and freeze in a small insulated container, or use a directional-freeze mold.
