Preparation
Select and Clean Oysters
Choose 12 fresh oysters either from the east or west coast. Rinse them thoroughly under cold running water to remove any sand or debris.
Prepare the Serving Plate
Arrange the cleaned oysters on a large serving plate or platter. You can use crushed ice beneath the oysters to keep them cold.
Condiment Preparation
Prepare Condiments
In small bowls, place 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish and 4 tablespoons of cocktail sauce. Cut the lemon into wedges for serving.
Set Up Crackers
Open the box of crackers and place them on the side of the serving plate for easy access.
Serving
Serve the Oysters
Serve the oysters immediately on the platter with the prepared horseradish, cocktail sauce, lemon wedges, and crackers on the side.
Enjoy
Encourage guests to shuck the oysters if they prefer, or serve them pre-shucked with the condiments for dipping.
