Method

Preparing Pancake Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

Cooking Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. If desired, add a small amount of butter to the pan for extra flavor.

  2. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of pancake batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.

  3. 6

    Flip and Finish Cooking

Carefully flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Remove from skillet and keep warm.

Cooking Bacon

  1. 7

    Cook Bacon

In the same skillet, add the bacon strips and cook over medium heat until crispy, about 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  2. 8

    Drain Bacon

Once cooked, transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate and Serve

Serve the pancakes warm, topped with the crispy bacon on the side. Optionally, add maple syrup or fruit toppings.
