Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a large pot or Dutch oven, over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, diced carrot, and diced celery to the pot. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 3

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Stir in the cubed potatoes, beef broth, and tomato paste. Mix until the tomato paste is fully dissolved.

  4. 4

    Season the Mixture

Add Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, black pepper, and bay leaves. Stir to combine all ingredients.

  5. 5

    Simmer the Stew

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and let simmer for 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  6. 6

    Add Peas

Add the frozen peas to the stew and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove bay leaves before serving. Serve hot and optionally garnish with chopped parsley and shredded cheese.
