  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

Once the water is boiling, slowly stir in 1 cup of Original Grit Girl grits and 1 tsp of salt.

  3. 3

    Cook the Grits

Reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grits are thick and creamy.

    Combine Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine 4 oz of fresh chèvre, 1 cup of heavy cream, and 1 tsp of black pepper.

  2. 5

    Blend Together

Using a whisk or a hand mixer, blend the cheese mixture until smooth and creamy.

Finish the Dish

  1. 6

    Combine Grits and Cheese

Once the grits are cooked, remove them from heat and stir in the cheese mixture until fully incorporated.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Serve

If desired, sprinkle chopped chives on top for garnish. Serve warm.
