1

Bring to serving temperature

Remove the whole double-cream Brie from the refrigerator and leave it, still in its box or on a plate, at room temperature for 30–60 minutes. This allows the interior to soften and flavors to open up.

2

Optional: Score rind

If you want a decorative look and easier access to the creamy interior, use a small knife to lightly score the top rind in a crisscross or radial pattern, cutting just the surface (do not remove the rind entirely).

3

Optional: Warm and serve (baked version)

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F. Place the Brie on a small ovenproof dish or in its box (remove any paper or plastic) or on a piece of lightly oiled foil. If desired, top the cheese with honey or fig jam and sprinkle with chopped nuts and herbs. Bake for 10–15 minutes until the center is soft and the rind is warm but not collapsing. Remove from oven and let rest 2–3 minutes before serving.

4

Serve room-temperature (uncooked)

If serving unbaked, arrange the Brie on a butcher block board or cheese platter. Provide a small knife for spreading. Offer accompaniments — drizzle honey or spoon fig jam onto the cheese or on the board, scatter chopped nuts and tuck herb sprigs beside the cheese. Serve with toasted baguette slices or crackers.

5

Toast baguette slices: Preheat a skillet over medium heat or a broiler. Lightly brush slices with olive oil if desired. Toast in the skillet 1–2 minutes per side until golden or under the broiler for 1–2 minutes per side. Cool slightly before serving.

6

Prepare toppings: Roughly chop walnuts or pecans. Place honey and fig jam in small bowls or spoon directly over the Brie when ready to serve. Tuck thyme or rosemary sprigs on the board for aroma and garnish.

7

Plating: Place the warmed or room-temperature Brie in the center of the butcher block. Arrange toasted bread/crackers, bowls of honey and jam, nuts, and herbs around it so guests can pair as they like.
