Oysters
Spicy Cocktail Sauce
Method
Preparing the Oysters
Shucking the Oysters
Carefully shuck the fresh oysters using an oyster knife. Hold the oyster firmly in a towel with the flat side facing up, insert the knife between the shells, twist to pry open, and detach the oyster from the shell.
Serving the Oysters
Place the shucked oysters on a serving platter, ensuring they remain in their bottom shell. Squeeze fresh lime juice over each oyster to enhance the flavor.
Making the Spicy Cocktail Sauce
Mixing Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and lemon juice. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Seasoning the Sauce
Add black pepper and salt to the mixture, adjusting to taste. Mix again to ensure an even distribution of seasoning.
Serving the Cocktail
Final Assembly
Pour a spoonful of the spicy cocktail sauce over each prepared oyster on the platter. Optionally, garnish with additional lime wedges on the side.
Enjoying the Coctel de Ostiones
Serve immediately while the oysters are fresh and chilled. Enjoy as a refreshing appetizer or a unique party shot.
