Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill bottle

Ensure the S. Pellegrino 50 cl bottle has been chilled in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours (optimal temperature around 4–8°C). If short on time, place the bottle in an ice bucket for 20–30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Chill glass (optional)

Place the serving glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or fill it with ice and cold water for 2–3 minutes, then discard the water just before serving.

Serving

  1. 3

If using ice: add 3–4 fresh ice cubes to the chilled glass.

  2. 4

Open the bottle: hold the bottle upright, remove the cap, and twist or lift off the cap carefully to preserve carbonation. Pour gently down the side of the glass to reduce foaming, filling to about 2–3 cm from the rim.

  3. 5

Garnish (optional): add a lemon wedge to the rim or squeeze a small amount into the water for a light citrus note, and/or tuck a mint sprig alongside the ice.

  4. 6

Presentation: serve immediately with a small coaster or napkin. Provide a straw if requested, though S. Pellegrino is typically sipped directly from the glass.

Storage / Leftovers

  1. 7

If the bottle is not finished, close with the original cap and store upright in the refrigerator. Consume within 24–48 hours for best carbonation and taste.
