Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
- 1
Chill glass
Place a rocks glass or lowball in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice and water while you assemble ingredients to thoroughly chill the glass.
- 2
Add ice to a mixing glass or shaker (enough to come near the top). This will properly chill and dilute the cocktail.
- 3
Measure and pour 1 oz chilled fino sherry into the mixing glass over the ice.
- 4
Measure and pour 1 oz chilled dry vermouth into the mixing glass with the sherry.
- 5
Add 3 dashes of Victory bitters (or substitute aromatic bitters) to the mixing glass.
- 6
- 7
Discard ice (or water) from the chilled rocks glass. Add one large ice cube (or several fresh ice cubes) to the glass.
- 8
Strain the stirred cocktail from the mixing glass into the prepared rocks glass over the ice.
- 9
Garnish & serve
Express the oils of one orange peel over the surface of the drink by holding the peel skin-side down above the glass and giving it a sharp twist, then run the peel around the rim and drop it into the drink as garnish. Serve immediately.
