Serve bottled water
Choose a clean, unopened bottle of still drinking water. If you prefer chilled water, chill the bottle in a refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or place it in an ice bucket for 10–15 minutes.
When ready to serve, wipe the bottle cap and neck with a clean cloth or napkin if the bottle has been handled or stored in an open area.
Open the bottle by twisting off the cap. Pour water into a clean glass if serving to someone; otherwise drink directly from the bottle if appropriate. If pouring, hold the bottle with one hand near the base and tilt gently to control flow.
If using ice: add 3–4 ice cubes to the glass before pouring. If using citrus: squeeze the lemon or lime wedge lightly over the poured water for a hint of flavor, then drop the wedge into the glass if desired. If using mint: slap the mint sprig between your palms once to release aroma, then add to the glass as a garnish.
Serve immediately. Recap the bottle if any remains and store in a cool place or refrigerate. Discard any water that has been sitting uncovered for more than 24 hours.
