Cocktail

Mint & Sweetener

Method

Mint Muddle

1

Prepare mint and sugar

Place 8 fresh mint leaves and 1/2 tsp granulated sugar in the bottom of a sturdy mixing glass or cocktail shaker.

2

Using a muddler (or the back of a spoon if you don't have one), gently press and twist the mint with the sugar 6–8 times to release the oils. Do not over-muddle — stop when the mint is fragrant and slightly broken but not shredded to avoid bitterness.

Build the Cocktail

3

Add 2 oz Ketel One Vodka, 1/2 oz Frangelico, and 1/2 oz Kahlúa to the muddled mint and sugar in the shaker.

4

Fill the shaker halfway with ice (or add the measured 1 cup cubed ice) and briefly shake for 6–8 seconds just to chill and integrate the ingredients. Because of the soda finish, a short shake is sufficient.

Finish & Serve

5

Strain the mixture (use a fine strainer if you prefer less mint bits) into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

6

Top with about 2 oz club soda (adjust to taste) and gently stir once or twice to combine without flattening the soda.

7

Garnish with one fresh mint sprig and an optional lime wheel or twist. Clap the mint between your palms first to release its aroma before placing it in the glass.

8

Serve immediately with a short cocktail straw. Enjoy.
