Aperol Spritz (single serving)

Method

Aperol Spritz (single serving)

  1. 1

    Chill glass and prepare ice

If desired, chill a large wine glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes. Fill the glass with ice (a handful or one large cube) to keep the drink cold and reduce dilution.

  2. 2

    Add Aperol

Pour 3 oz Aperol over the ice. Measure with a jigger for consistency.

  3. 3

    Add Prosecco

Slowly add 2 oz chilled Prosecco. Pour gently down the side or over a bar spoon to retain bubbles.

  4. 4

    Top with soda

Add 1 oz soda water to top and lighten the cocktail. Adjust slightly to preference — more soda for a milder drink.

  5. 5

    Stir gently

Using a bar spoon, stir gently 4–6 times to combine ingredients without flattening the sparkling wine.

  6. 6

    Garnish and serve

Garnish with one fresh orange slice (or an orange twist). Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.

Optional variations & notes

  1. 7

For a slightly stronger spritz, increase Aperol to 3.5 oz and reduce Prosecco to 1.5 oz. For a lighter, more bitter-forward version, substitute one ounce of Prosecco with extra soda.

  2. 8

Use a large single ice cube to slow dilution. If making a pitcher, scale ingredients to maintain the 3:2:1 ratio (Aperol:Prosecco:Soda) and add ice and orange slices just before serving.
