Method
Prepare and Muddle
Muddle strawberries
Place the 4 hulled, sliced strawberries into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass. Add 0.5 oz simple syrup and muddle firmly until the strawberries are broken down and yield a fragrant, slightly pulpy purée (about 20–30 seconds).
Add citrus and vodka
Add 0.75 oz fresh lime juice and 2 oz chilled vodka to the muddled strawberries. Give a gentle stir to combine.
Shake and Strain
Fill the shaker with 6 ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.
Double-strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe or a rocks glass filled with fresh ice to remove seeds and strawberry pulp. If you prefer a lightly fizzy drink, pour into a highball glass over ice and top with 1.5 oz club soda; stir gently once to combine.
Garnish and Serve
Garnish with 1 strawberry slice and 1 lime wheel on the rim, and add a mint sprig if using. Serve immediately.
