Method
Prepare Cocktail
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with cubed ice (about 1 cup).
Add 2 oz dark rum and 1 oz spiced rum to the shaker.
Measure and pour 4 oz pineapple juice and 1 oz freshly squeezed orange juice into the shaker.
Add 1 oz cream of coconut (such as Coco López). If the cream of coconut is very thick, warm slightly or stir until pourable before measuring.
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and the mixture is well combined and slightly frothy.
Fill a double old-fashioned glass or tiki mug with fresh ice (crushed ice works traditionally; use about 1 cup of ice).
Strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass over the ice.
Garnish & Finish
Grate a light dusting of fresh nutmeg over the top of the drink (to taste — about a pinch).
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and an orange wheel on the rim or skewered on a pick.
Serve immediately with a straw. Optionally add a second 0.25–0.5 oz float of dark rum on top for extra rum aroma and presentation.
