Method

Punch Base

1

Combine spirits and juices

In a large pitcher or punch bowl (at least 2.5 quart / 2.5 L capacity), pour in the coconut rum, pineapple rum and pineapple juice. Stir gently to combine.

2

Add coconut purée and agave

Spoon the coconut purée into the mixture and add the agave nectar. Whisk vigorously (or use an immersion blender on low for 10–15 seconds) until the coconut purée is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth and slightly frothy. Taste and adjust sweetness, adding up to 1 more tablespoon agave if desired.

3

Chill the combined base in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to marry. If you need it ready immediately, proceed to the next step and serve over ice.

Carbonation & Finish

4

Add lime juice

Once the base is chilled (or ready to serve), stir in the fresh lime juice to brighten the flavors. Mix gently to incorporate.

5

Top with ginger ale

Just before serving, slowly pour the chilled ginger ale into the punch bowl or pitcher to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once to combine — avoid vigorous stirring to keep bubbles.

6

Add ice to the serving vessel or to individual glasses. If you prefer not to dilute the punch too quickly, add ice to a separate ice ring or bowl and float it in the punch bowl.

Serve & Garnish

7

Ladle and garnish

Ladle the Castaway Punch into ice-filled glasses. Garnish each glass with a pineapple wedge and a lime wheel, and finish with a mint sprig. For a festive touch, rim glasses with toasted coconut before pouring.

8

Suggested serving note: This punch is best served immediately after adding ginger ale to retain effervescence. Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours; re-carbonation will be lost and flavors may separate — stir or gently reblend before serving.
