Method
Cocktail
Measure and combine
Add 2 oz Knob Creek bourbon, 0.5 oz Chambord, 1 oz chilled pomegranate juice, 0.5 oz Tres Agaves agave syrup, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (enough for a vigorous shake), seal and shake hard for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosted. This both chills and lightly dilutes the cocktail to balance the sweetness and acidity.
Prepare glass
Place a large ice cube in a rocks glass (or fill with fresh ice if you prefer).
Strain
Double-strain the shaken cocktail (using the shaker lid and a fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared glass over the large ice cube to remove any small ice shards and fruit solids for a clean presentation.
Garnish & Finish
Express the orange twist over the surface of the drink by holding the twist skin-side down and giving it a firm bend to release oils, then rub the rim of the glass with the twist and drop it into the drink.
Optional: Thread 2–3 fresh raspberries or a few pomegranate arils on a cocktail pick and rest across the glass, or simply float them on the surface for color and aroma.
Serve immediately. Suggest presenting with a short stirring spoon or cocktail napkin.
