Cocktail
Chill glass
Place an old-fashioned glass or coupe in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you mix the cocktail to chill.
Measure and combine
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz Lazzaroni Amaretto, 1 oz bourbon, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters.
Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with ice (enough to nearly fill). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold to the touch and the mixture is well chilled and slightly diluted.
Prepare serving glass
If using ice water to chill the glass, dump it now. Add a large ice cube to the old-fashioned glass if you prefer the drink on the rocks; alternatively leave chilled glass empty for a up or coupe serving.
Strain and finish
Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass (over the large ice cube if using). This removes any small ice shards and citrus pulp for a clean presentation.
Garnish & Serve
Express the lemon twist over the drink by holding it skin-side down and giving it a quick squeeze to release oils, then rub the rim with the peel and drop it into the glass. Optionally add a Luxardo cherry on a pick. Serve immediately.
