Cooking Instructions
Prepare the Shrimp
In a bowl, combine the shrimp, grated ginger, minced garlic, hot pepper sauce, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly and let marinate for about 15 minutes.
Coat the Shrimp
In a separate bowl, add the cornstarch. Remove the shrimp from the marinade and coat each piece in cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the coated shrimp to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Prepare the Hot Pepper Butter
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in a little extra hot pepper sauce to taste, then remove from heat.
Serve
Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels. Drizzle the hot pepper butter over the crispy shrimp and serve immediately.
