Preparing the Shrimp

Cook the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring water, lemon halves, and Old Bay seasoning to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and let cool.

Making the Wasabi Cocktail Sauce

Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine ketchup, wasabi paste, horseradish, lemon juice, soy sauce, and salt. Adjust salt to taste and mix well.

Preparing Namasu

Make the Namasu

In a separate bowl, combine julienned carrot and daikon radish. In a small saucepan, heat rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Pour over the vegetables and let sit for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Plate the Dish

Serve the cooked shrimp chilled with wasabi cocktail sauce on the side and a portion of namasu.
