Starry Cocktail Base

Optional Floral Mist (aromatic spray)

Method

Starry Cocktail Base

1

Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it's well chilled.

2

Build cocktail

In a cocktail shaker, add 4 large ice cubes, 2 oz gin, 0.75 oz elderflower liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup.

3

Shake

Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker feels cold and slightly frosty on the outside. This chills and dilutes the mix to balance the flavors.

4

Strain

Double-strain the shaken mixture into the chilled coupe (discard ice water if used). Use a Hawthorne strainer plus a fine mesh strainer to remove any pulp or small ice shards for a silky finish.

5

Top with sparkle

Gently top the cocktail with 2 oz chilled champagne or dry sparkling wine. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and create a delicate foam.

Starry Garnish & Accents

6

Add edible stars

Carefully float a few edible gold stars or a tiny piece of gold leaf on the surface of the drink. Use tweezers for precise placement to create a 'starry' effect.

7

Express lemon oils

Take a lemon twist over the drink and gently squeeze and rub the peel around the rim to release aromatic oils, then drop the twist into the cocktail or drape it on the rim.

8

Optional floral mist

If using, give one light spritz of rosewater or orange blossom water over the surface from a distance (1–2 inches) to avoid overpowering the aroma. This adds a subtle florality that complements elderflower.

9

Serve immediately while the sparkling wine is lively. Encourage guests to sip slowly to appreciate the layered floral, citrus, and effervescent notes.
