Preparation

1

Cook the Filling

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add Swiss chard, season with salt and pepper, and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.

2

Prepare the Dough

If using store-bought phyllo dough, thaw it according to package instructions. If making from scratch, prepare a simple dough with flour, water, and salt, and let it rest.

3

Assemble the Burek

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). On a clean surface, lay out a sheet of phyllo dough and brush with olive oil. Layer 2-3 sheets, then place a portion of the Swiss chard mixture along one edge. Sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan. Roll tightly into a log shape and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4

Bake

Brush the top of the burek with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

5

Serve

Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and cut into pieces. Serve warm.
