Preparation

Preparation

1. Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

2. Prepare the Steak

Add the flank steak to the marinade, ensuring it is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

3. Slice the Vegetables

While the steak marinates, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.

Cooking

4. Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat. Remove the flank steak from the marinade and discard the leftover marinade. Grill or sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

5. Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little olive oil if needed and sauté the sliced bell peppers and onions over medium-high heat for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly charred.

6. Rest and Slice the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Then, slice it against the grain into thin strips.

Serving

7. Assemble the Fajitas

Warm the flour tortillas on a skillet or in the microwave. Layer the sliced steak, sautéed peppers, and onions on each tortilla.

8. Add Condiments

Top with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa as desired. Roll up the tortillas and serve immediately.
